Senior Software Engineer
Fluency Voice Technology Limited: August 2003 - July 2004 (Redundancy)
- Designed, implemented and tested a bespoke meter reading speech application as part of a large customer project
- Played a major role in the design and development of DialogueWare, which was a set of re-usable software modules to speed up development and delivery of bespoke speech applications
- Performed duties as release manager of DialogueWare, ensuring regression testing was performed, and release notes issued, with each release of the software
Senior Software Engineer
Vocalis Limited: July 1998 - August 2003
- Implemented, tested, installed and performed on-site testing of a DTMF (touch-tone) based application for a customer in Ireland which allowed customers to call up the system and request various billing information
- Investigated and developed an interface between a 3rd party dialogue development tool and Vocalis' speech recognition API
- Provided on-site consultancy for the above mentioned API
- Designed and developed a suite of automated test applications for Vocalis' speech recognition API. This enhanced the release procedure for each release, as regression tests could be performed automatically
- Travelled to customer sites around the world to liase with customers and to perform on-site installations and testing
- Provided support to all the company's installed systems as part of the 24 hour support team
- Maintained legacy SS#7 software, and re-wrote the documentation for it
- Was part of the team who redesigned and redeveloped the company's signalling IP solution, which also replaced the legacy SS#7 software
